LOVE IS WHAT HOLDS US TOGETHER
Love is the essence of everything. Most of the things that we do is we do it for love. We can’t see it but we can feel its presence everywhere. Each of us has the capability to love someone because it is part of the human nature. In a world full of hate, people should reciprocate by giving love so that negativity couldn’t grow. I believe in the saying “Love is the most powerful thing” because it is the reason why people are united to build a better society.
Christmas is known as the most celebrated occasion everywhere because it is where we spend more quality time to the people we love. Being a Filipino, we are used of having a traditional way of celebrating Christmas. “Noche Buena” is the time where we gather around and eat with our family. Since I was just a kid, I am used of seeing my family buying cigarettes, beers and etc. than purchasing on what is really needed. As I grow older, I realized that it is not necessary to buy things for just recreational use during the occasion because spending time with your family without beers and etc. is already enough to make your day happy. The data shown in the book shows that people are thinking more on their pleasures than necessary things. I know that people are used to this kind of tradition but we should really think what is the true definition of Christmas and therefore, we should limit those things. And if people don’t know how to limit theirselves, we will lose the essence of Christmas. We should think what’s necessary because in the table shown, we can see that people even spent higher on their miscellaneous than their health. It is very obvious to say that people should be aware on this certain thing because it is too important because this also talks about health issues.
Love may be simple but it is the greatest gift we can give to others. Expensive gifts will last but having someone who really loves you is such an underrated blessing.
