HOW TO DEAL WITH A DEPRESSED FRIEND

          Depression is the most current issue that we faced in today's generation. In the Philippines, most people that have gone through this are teenagers. Depression is a mental illness and therefore, it shouldn't be taken as a joke. We all see smiling faces everywhere but we don't know their struggles inside. People who suffers from this experience different kinds of symptoms like anxiety that can lead to suffering. Worst case scenario, it can lead to suicide. So, instead of judging someone based on their physical appearance, why don't we be nice to them? We may never know that we can save someone's life.

So here are the process on how to deal with a depressed friend...

1. Be sensitive- Always be sensitive enough in comforting a friend and always be careful to the word that you'll say to your friend.

2. Show your friend how his/her existence is important- Tell your friend about how important life is and that he/she matters. And always remind your friend that life is beautiful and you just have to find your purpose to have a meaningful life.

3. Always be a "one call away" friend- Be a friend that you can always count on every time a friend needs you. Don't hesitate to help and always be a good listener so that your friend will trust you and so that your friend can feel safed.

4. Tell your friend that he/she can conquer this- Always remind your friend that he/she can overcome his/her problem and that God is always there to guide us.

      According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression is the most common illness worldwide and the leading cause of disability. They estimate that 350 million people are affected by depression, globally. 
     There are a lots of treatment on depressions like having a therapy but one thing's for sure that can help you get through this is yourself and sometimes, you just have to be with a positive friend that helps you. You just have to find the will to stand up again and continue to go on in life.

    We can't control someone's feelings but these steps on dealing a depressed friend should be followed because it serves as a guide to save a life or so that you're friend would feel relieve on what she/he's feeling. Each lives counts, so instead of judging someone why don't we help them? We must be a superhero of our own and to also spread awareness about this.
